CosmicSky - SoundScapes (2001)

SoundScapes is an ambient mix of sonic bass tones, transient synth & piano melodies mixed with detailed vocal and true life sampling. Although the vocal sampling is quite extensive, there are very few words, the voice has been used more as an instrument emenating a display of tones and layers. The bass tones transform from deep and rumbling echoes of what might seem to be the dark depths of a brimming storm haunting your soul to the almost ecstatic cascading synth calls that pull any lost believer back to the waking vision of the dream. This album will push you to the edge only to show you the light at the end of the dark. The tempo varies from ambient to upbeat. Although samples were used on this album in conjunction with sequencing, most of the songs feature live mixing of elaborate arrangements of small sequenced parts and were recorded only once. All instrumentation, sampling, vocals, sequencing and mixing on SoundScapes have been created soley by Holly Morris.
